A church without a strong Youth component is a dying church

It is said that a church without a vibrant Youth component is a dying church. No prizes for those who agree. However, if we do not recognise the urgent need to develop and nurture the next generation of worshippers, we could be faced with a very empty church in the not-to-distant future (and some say that we already have parishes with very small numbers attending on a Sunday!).
Therefore, are our existing Church leadership equipped enough to build a younger congregation? Can an ordinary parish exist without a Youth Pastor? How important is it to have a full time Youth worker in every parish to help build the next generation of worshippers?
What should our priorities be in this regard?

yes the youth in need is a youth indeed, the church really need youth to sustain they can be vibrant in the church as they are in the outside world.
but there's a question, can they hear what the holy spirit tells? if they can, they can lead by faith.

Hi everyone, when historians begin to document our time, they are going to be forced to call this an age of revolution, because there are more changes and more revolutions in this generation than in any other generation in history. The effects of revolution unfold almost in every area of our lives – political, religious, technological, medical and otherwise.

I therefore believe that it is time that we, as young people in the church, should all stop thinking so much about ourselves or what we personally want to own and start thinking about what we can do for others who are in need – which I think is the best way to start a revolution of a growing church. The Anglican Church in the whole province needs to invest in Youth pastors and Youth workers who will have one vision - that of equipping young people. My last comment will be - let all of us begin a revolution for attitude change towards the Church among young people and the rest will fall into place. Begin a revolution where you are!

Thanks Tony for the hard work you are doing for our Church especially for young people. Your efforts will not go to waste.

Strength is measured not by seats in the pews, but by active involvement in the life of the church. Give young people a meaningful role in the church and they will come back for more.

I choose to agree with Kgosi when he says that young people shound be given a constructive role to play in church
